Job Description/Overview:
Peartree Life Care is looking for a male caregiver to support children and young adults with challenging behaviours, including those with PICA. The role involves providing personal care, meal assistance, medication administration, emotional support, and attending appointments. The caregiver must have a compassionate and patient attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Work with children and young adults who exhibit challenging behaviour
Provide care for individuals with PICA
Perform holistic assessments of service users
Deliver personal care (washing, dressing, oral hygiene)
Support with eating, drinking, and meal preparation
Assist with food shopping
Administer medication and prompt as needed
Carry out household cleaning tasks
Attend appointments and multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings
Offer emotional support and create a caring environment
Maintain accurate record-keeping and care documentation
Qualifications:
Must be male, as some service users are triggered by female caregivers
Previous experience working with challenging behaviours
Ability to care for individuals with PICA
UK driving licence or ability to obtain one within 6 months
Experience:
Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with challenging behaviours is required.
Skills:
Compassionate, patient, and empathetic
Strong interpersonal and record-keeping skills
