Job Description/Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide nursing services within their defined scope of practice in a nursing home or retirement home setting. Responsibilities include administering medications, conducting specimen collections, and monitoring patient health.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer medications
Conduct specimen collection
Monitor nutritional intake
Observe and record medication’s therapeutic and side effects
Record observations in patient files
Take vital signs
Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
Deliver nursing services based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
Qualifications:
Completion of College/CEGEP
Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work
Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination
First Aid Certificate
