Job Description/Overview:
Eleve Freightways Ltd. is looking for truck drivers to transport goods and materials across various locations. The position involves inspecting vehicles, performing emergency roadside repairs, and ensuring cargo safety and security. The role requires flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends, evenings, and mornings.
Key Responsibilities:
– Load and unload goods
– Operate straight or articulated trucks
– Inspect tires, brakes, lights, and cold storage
– Perform brake adjustments and emergency repairs
– Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
– Perform preventive maintenance
– Record cargo information, distance travelled, and fuel consumption
– Ensure safety and security of cargo
Qualifications:
– Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience:
– Experience an asset
Credentials:
– Air Brakes Endorsement
– Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Skills:
– Knowledge of accident or incident reports, driver log books, and trip reports
– Ability to perform emergency roadside repairs and preventive maintenance
