Job Description/Overview:
BIRD LOGISTICS LTD. is seeking truck drivers to operate straight or articulated trucks for the transport of goods and materials. This role involves inspecting vehicles, ensuring safety and security of cargo, and performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections. The job supports environmental goals by contributing to positive environmental outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
– Arrange travel itineraries and reservations
– Drive as part of a team or convoy
– Load and unload goods
– Obtain permits for international routes
– Operate and drive trucks
– Inspect tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment
– Ensure cargo safety and security
– Supervise other truck drivers
Qualifications:
– Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience:
– 1 to less than 7 months
Credentials:
– AZ class license
– Air Brakes Endorsement
– Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Skills:
– Knowledge of bill of lading, logbooks, and inspection reports
– Ability to operate GPS, CB radio, and other navigation equipment
– Long-haul, international travel experience
