Job Description/Overview:
NatWest Group is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team. You will work with innovative technology to deliver impactful solutions in a fast-paced environment, honing your software engineering skills. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications and services to meet business goals and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
– Apply software engineering principles to design, develop, test, and maintain applications.
– Ensure work meets required technical standards.
– Design and develop reusable libraries and APIs across the bank.
– Automate build, testing, and deployment processes across all environments.
– Support platform component reuse across engineering teams.
– Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
Qualifications:
– Background in software engineering, software design, or database design and architecture.
– Experience in SOA or micro-services paradigms.
– Proficiency in Java, React JavaScript, Spring Framework, Kotlin, SQL, and database technologies like DB2 and Postgres.
– Knowledge of AWS is a plus.
– Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks.
– Strong understanding of software delivery life cycles and methodologies.
Experience:
– Previous experience in software development, particularly in a structured environment with specific timescales.
Skills:
– Excellent communication and team collaboration.
– Ability to understand and maintain systems developed by other teams.
– Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
