Job Description/Overview:
Recruit4staff is representing a leading manufacturer seeking a CNC Programmer for their facility in Wolverhampton. The role involves programming 3-axis to 5-axis milling machines and optimising both new and legacy programs in a precision engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Program 3 to 5-axis milling machines efficiently and cost-effectively.
– Optimise new and existing programs.
– Assist machining technicians in delivering high-quality parts safely and efficiently.
– Maintain program infrastructure in compliance with AS9100D accreditation.
– Support continuous improvement initiatives and waste reduction.
– Collaborate with the production team to maximise Right First Time (RFT) and On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery of parts.
– Design and introduce versatile fixturing elements.
– Optimise tool life and implement new tooling and cutting techniques.
– Assist manufacturing engineers in planning work for optimal manufacturing methods.
Qualifications:
– Experience in CNC machining within a precision engineering environment (ESSENTIAL).
– Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (ESSENTIAL).
– Experience in the Aerospace and Automotive sectors (ESSENTIAL).
– Proficiency in using and adapting various CAD/CAM packages (ESSENTIAL).
– Experience in operating and setting different machine tools (ESSENTIAL).
– Online and offline programming experience (ESSENTIAL).
– Must be PC literate (ESSENTIAL).
– High competency in CNC programming, particularly in Fanuc and Heidenhain languages.
– Familiarity with the VISI CAM package for offline programming (DESIRED).
Experience:
– Previous experience in a similar CNC programming role is essential.
