Job Description/Overview:
BS-1 Masonry Ltd. is seeking experienced Masons to work on various commercial, industrial, residential, and institutional projects. The role involves working outdoors in challenging environments and performing a wide range of tasks to ensure high-quality concrete finishing and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
– Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
– Level the top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
– Work at heights, using scaffolding or swing stages.
– Use hand and power tools to impart desired finishes on concrete surfaces.
– Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures.
– Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surfaces.
– Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces.
– Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
– Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
Qualifications:
– Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
– 3 to 5 years of experience in concrete masonry or related work.
Experience:
– Proficiency with materials like lightweight concrete, colours, sealers, hardeners, and epoxies.
– Knowledge of finishing techniques and surface treatment.
Skills:
– Physically demanding, ability to handle heavy loads.
– Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
– Attention to detail.
Work Conditions:
– Dusty, wet, and outdoor environments.
– Must be able to work in a physically demanding setting.
– Safety equipment required: Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, earplugs, and gloves.
