Job Description/Overview
The University of Buckingham’s Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies (BUCSIS) is looking for a Lecturer to join its team. This role involves teaching various modules in security and intelligence studies at undergraduate (BA) and postgraduate (MA) levels, as well as supporting short and professional certificate courses. The successful candidate will assist in furthering the Centre’s research agenda and contribute to the development of new programmes and innovative teaching methods. Additional responsibilities include pastoral care for students and participation in faculty development.
Key Responsibilities
– Teach security and intelligence modules at BA and MA levels
– Contribute to developing new courses and innovative teaching methods
– Provide pastoral support to students
– Engage in research to further the Centre’s academic reputation
– Assist with professional certificate courses for UK and international audiences
Qualifications
– Doctorate in a relevant discipline (or near completion)
Experience
– Experience in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
– Strong organisational skills and a creative approach to teaching
– Ability to align with Buckingham’s values of personalised student support
Skills
– Excellent teaching and communication skills
– Commitment to research in security and intelligence
– Ability to develop innovative educational programmes
