Job Description/Overview  

The University of Glasgow seeks a Lecturer in Creative Writing to contribute to research, teaching, and administrative activities within the School of Critical Studies. This role involves developing and leading research projects, publishing high-quality work, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and participating in the curriculum development and student supervision.

 

Key Responsibilities  

– Develop and progress research projects of international standard  

– Publish high-quality creative and/or critical research  

– Plan, organise, and deliver teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate courses  

– Contribute to curriculum development  

– Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects  

– Participate in administrative or management roles within the subject/School  

– Engage in continuing professional development  

– Contribute to enhancing the University’s international profile

 

Qualifications  

– PhD or equivalent in Creative Writing or a related field

 

Experience  

– Experience in research and teaching within Creative Writing  

– Proven track record of publications and research outputs  

– Experience in curriculum development and student supervision

 

Skills  

– Effective communication and organisational skills  

– Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities  

– Proven ability to engage and inspire students

Additional Information

 

– Salary: £39,347 – £44,263 per annum  

– Benefits include 41 days of leave, pension, flexible working options, and a free 6-month UofG Sport membership
