Job Description/Overview:
DNV Maritime Region Americas is seeking an experienced Senior Ship Surveyor and Auditor to join the Houston FIS Station. The role involves attending vessels for surveys/audits, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, and supporting various maritime activities. This is a hybrid role based in Houston, covering Texas and Louisiana ports.
Key Responsibilities:
– Conduct surveys and audits on vessels.
– Ensure compliance with organisational rules and guidelines.
– Work on-site during dry-docking and vessel conversions.
– Support class activities and maintain client confidentiality.
– Supervise and mentor junior colleagues.
– Communicate significant information to line management.
– Promote DNV and provide technical support to clients.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering.
– 5 – 10 years of relevant experience in maritime engineering or related fields.
– Technical competencies: DNV or other IACS class society qualifications; ISM, MLC, and ISPS auditor experience is a plus.
– Valid driver’s licence and eligibility for TWIC.
– Strong customer service orientation and physical ability to perform job functions.
Experience:
– Experience as a Ship Surveyor, Shipbuilding Engineer, or related roles.
Skills:
– Proficiency in English (speaking and writing).
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Availability for non-standard working hours if required.

Base Pay Range: $68,000 – $103,000 per year ( estimate)
