Job Description/Overview:
Bard Engineering is an Australian company that has been serving the mining and support industry for over 30 years. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This role involves focusing on the mechanical and control system engineering of heavy mining equipment, working closely with a team of skilled engineers to develop and improve products, production processes, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Design, develop, and enhance heavy mechanical systems for demanding applications.
– Work closely with project teams to improve processes and products.
– Conduct research, validate findings, and document results.
– Identify and implement improvements in the manufacturing process.
– Develop robust engineering solutions based on client briefs.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
– Proficient in 3D modelling using Solidworks and data management systems (PDM).
– 10+ years of 3D modelling experience.
– 5+ years of heavy mechanical design experience, following Australian Standards.
– Expertise in FEA output interpretation and validation.
– Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and circuit design.
– Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills.
– Experience with CAD 2D drafting and ELV control systems.
– Ability to lead project design teams.
– High level of attention to detail and customer service skills.
– Must have Australian Work Rights.
Experience:
– 10+ years of 3D modelling experience.
– 5+ years of heavy mechanical design experience.
Skills:
– Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
– Proficient in FEA output, CAD, and Solidworks.
– Experience with hydraulic systems and ELV control systems.
