Job Description/Overview:
The Senior Project Manager will oversee large-scale construction projects, coordinating subcontractor activities, managing budgets, and ensuring the timely completion of projects. This role requires a combination of structural engineering expertise and project management skills, with work based on-site in an office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Coordinate subcontractor activities
– Plan and organise daily operations
– Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and subcontractors
– Prepare and manage construction schedules and budgets
– Prepare contracts and negotiate changes and additions
– Develop and implement risk management plans
– Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
– Oversee data analysis and report preparation
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or Project Management
– Professional Engineer Certification (P. Eng.) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Experience:
5+ years in project management and structural engineering
Skills:
– Proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and structural metal/steel specialisation
– Strong communication and organisational skills
– Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
