About the Opportunity
Cloud Security Services is seeking a Security Threat Intelligence Engineer Consultant to support their Threat Management Threat Intelligence team. The objective is to ensure cyber threats are continuously evaluated for risk and impact to clients, customers, third parties, infrastructure, and the wider ecosystem across all environments.
Responsibilities
– Collect, process, and analyse information regarding security threats, providing indications and warnings of impending attacks.
– Produce and disseminate intelligence products, advisories, or tailored reports.
– Analyze and report on unique attack vectors, emerging cyber threats, and current trends used by malicious actors.
– Conduct daily threat intelligence monitoring through open and closed sources.
– Continually improve the threat intelligence team’s processes, including creating run books, procedures, and automation.
– Maintain, develop, and analyse threat data/intelligence sources, both technical and non-technical.
– Identify, evaluate, and communicate new and ongoing cybersecurity threats through regular and ad-hoc reporting.
– Support threat hunts and purple teaming to identify threat actor groups and their techniques.
– Analyse anomalous log data and support security incidents for better detection and alerting capabilities.
– Generate reports of trending metrics and improve detection sets for more efficient operations.
– Acquire threat intelligence and technical indicators from external sources and develop internal intelligence indicators.
Required Skills
– Solid understanding of common and advanced threats, penetration/intrusion techniques, and attack vectors such as:
– Malware analysis
– APT/Crimeware ecosystems
– Exploit kits
– Cyber Threat Intelligence
– Knowledge of current hacking techniques, cyber threat actors, and security analysis techniques.
– Competency in using common intelligence datasets and familiarity with tools like:
– Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP)
– STIX, MISP, TAXII frameworks
– Malware Analysis / Reversal Tools
– SIEM, SOAR
– Network sniffers and packet tracing tools
– Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and the Meraki dashboard.
– Ability to write custom query logic for SIEM tools and SQL for data warehouses.
– Minimum of 10 years in information security with at least 7 years in all-source cyber intelligence and analysis.
Preferred Skills
– Relevant industry security certifications such as CISSP, SANS GIAC, AWS certifications.
– Experience with digital forensics, incident response, threat detection, and cloud security.
– Networking experience with LAN/WAN routing and high availability.
– Experience with advanced persistent threats (APT), cybercriminals, and emerging threats.
Required Education
– Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science or equivalent training, education, and work experience.
– Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, etc.
Preferred Education
– Additional certifications in cybersecurity, such as CISSP, CISM, etc.
