Job Description/Overview:
CDM Smith is seeking a Hazard Mitigation Specialist to support climate resiliency and FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance Program, along with other related contracts for domestic and international clients. This role is ideal for new professionals ready to engage in various federal climate resiliency and policy tasks under the guidance of experienced staff.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide technical and programmatic support to FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs.
– Conduct research and develop white papers focused on equity, climate resiliency, and national preparedness.
– Assist in developing programmatic guidance for FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs.
– Perform data analysis and design tools for program efficiencies, including updates to FEMA’s benefit-cost analysis toolkit.
– Support facilitation of stakeholder and FEMA leadership meetings.
– Develop and refine outreach and communication materials.
– Provide technical assistance to program users.
Qualifications Needed:
– Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
– Experience: No prior experience required; equivalent directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.
– Skills:
– Basic knowledge of corporate governance, organisation design principles, accounting, finance, supply chain management, and organisational management.
– Good written and oral communication skills.
– Ability to comprehend complex technical, professional, and business materials.
– Driver’s Licence: A valid driver’s licence is required.
