Job Description/Overview:
The Group Director, HSE Logistics & Projects is responsible for developing, implementing, supporting, and monitoring HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) strategies and programs. This role involves overseeing HSE audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and the development of corrective action plans. The Director will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure the effective application of HSE standards and support the continuous improvement of safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assist in strategic planning and development of HSE objectives and targets.
– Act as the primary contact in the absence of the Group Vice President, Operational Safety.
– Lead HSE audits and risk assessments, reporting findings to senior management.
– Investigate major incidents and fatalities, communicating findings and recommendations.
– Develop and monitor corrective actions for high-risk operations.
– Conduct pre-acquisition HSE assessments and advice on HSE measures for new builds.
– Support the practical application of DP World’s HSE standards.
– Manage annual HSE budgets and special projects.
– Liaise with corporate and regional departments on joint HSE initiatives.
– Develop and implement HSE training programs.
– Monitor the emergency phone system and manage incident reporting and communication.
– Lead and mentor a team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and safety standards.
Desired Candidate Profile:
– Nationality: Any
– Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Technology/Engineering or related field
– Experience: Minimum 8 years in HSE roles, including 3 years in a leadership position
– Skills: Experience in industrial environments, incident investigations, training program development, and project management. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Additional Information:
The role involves regular international travel and emergency response duties. The Director will act as an ambassador for DP World, promoting its values and ensuring high safety standards.
