Job Description/Overview:
Ollie Pets is on a mission to improve the lives of pets and pet parents nationwide by delivering human-grade, tailored pet food directly to customers’ doors. As a Food Safety Program Coordinator, you will ensure the highest standards of food safety across the company’s operations. This role involves working closely with the Operations & Food teams to maintain safety programs, manage data, and collaborate with vendors. The position is remote and reports to the Director of Food Safety & Quality Assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
– Program Verification: Regularly verify Ollie Food Safety programs, including HACCP, track & trace exercises, and vendor compliance.
– Product Review: Review and dispose of food products based on safety and quality testing thresholds.
– KPI Maintenance: Maintain FSQA KPIs, coordinate root cause analysis efforts, and inform leadership of emerging trends.
– Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with 21 C.F.R. 117 for Human Grade Pet Food, sanitary transportation, and retailer requirements.
– Supplier Documentation: Manage supplier documentation for all new and existing vendors.
– Training & Support: Provide training and support to customer-facing teams on quality and food safety, including dog health and safety topics.
Qualifications needed:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in food science, animal science, or related field.
– 2+ years of experience in food safety, quality, or compliance roles.
– Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
– Proficiency in Excel.
– Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
Bonus Points:
– HACCP Certification or equivalent experience.
– Experience with pet health needs.
