Job Description/Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse will provide nursing services within the defined scope of practice in a healthcare setting in Rankin Inlet. Responsibilities include administering medications, providing pre-operative and post-operative care, and ensuring infection control. The position requires on-site work with no remote options.
Key Responsibilities:
– Administer medications and apply aseptic techniques.
– Conduct specimen collection and monitor nutritional intake.
– Prepare patients for surgery and assist in the operating room.
– Observe and record medication effects and provide personal and comfort care.
– Monitor respiratory and intravenous therapy.
– Provide health education and consult with healthcare team members.
Qualifications needed:
– Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
– Experience: 1 to less than 7 months.
Experience:
– Relevant experience in providing nursing services and assisting in surgical procedures.
Skills:
– Ability to administer medications and perform technical assistance in surgery.
– Proficiency in infection control and patient monitoring.
