Job Description/Overview:
The IT Innovation Engineer plays an instrumental role in driving the bank’s technological advancement and competitive positioning. This role is pivotal in operationalizing innovative technologies and solutions identified through rigorous evaluation processes. In tandem with the IT Innovation Lead, the engineer ensures these technologies are seamlessly integrated into existing operations, align with the bank’s strategic goals, and enrich the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the identification and exploration of innovative IT platforms, devices, frameworks and libraries that could provide a competitive advantage to the bank
- Act as the technical expert in the evaluation and deployment of innovative technologies that align with the bank’s strategic focus.
- Complement in the details of the innovation roadmap, contributing technical insights that facilitate practical implementations.
- Lead the technical aspect of proof-of-concept (PoC) projects, ensuring they meet both business and IT criteria. Implement the PoC in an autonomous manner.
- Collaborate closely with internal IT teams, business units, and external vendors to ensure the successful implementation of projects, a smooth deployment and operationalization of innovative technologies in compliance of the Bank’s minimum standards.
- Contribute to the refinement of the innovation methodology by providing post-implementation technical reviews and suggesting improvements.
- Monitor the technical performance and security of implemented innovations, offering insights for optimization or modification.
- Foster technical literacy and innovation orientation within the IT Department by mentoring and coaching team members
Qualifications needed
- Proven experience in an innovation or reasearch and development role, preferably in the financial sector, with a track record of successfully implementing new technologies
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience preferably within the banking sector
- Mandatory languages : French and English. Any other language is an asset
- Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or Research and Development
- Robust knowledge of current and emerging technology trends, and the ability to understand their potential and but also the impact of their technical integration considering the bank’s technological landscape
- You are a kind of all around IT Special Ops with proven and battle tested expertise, ideally combining full-stack and devops engineering profiles.
- Exceptional abilities in diving into an unkown technologies, learning new concepts, to develop PoC and technological implementations.
- Deep expertise in both current and emerging technologies, along with the acumen to apply them for business advantage.
- Highly collaborative, capable of effective interaction with multidisciplinary teams and external collaborators.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on the technical intricacies of innovation.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining intricate technical details to a non-technical audience.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, inclined towards the discovery and qualification of market-ready solutions.
- A good understanding of the regulatory environment in which banks operate, including the specific requirements for IT
- Understanding of the SaaS/PaaS/API architectures and business models
