Job Description/Overview:
The 48th Logistics Readiness Squadron at RAF Lakenheath is hiring a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, and maintaining a variety of heavy mobile and automotive equipment, including loaders, bulldozers, and mobile cranes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in heavy mobile and automotive vehicles.
- Overhaul, modify, and maintain various systems and components.
- Conduct functional and performance tests on repaired equipment.
- Utilize hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and test equipment.
- Maintain and interpret technical documentation.
Qualifications needed:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanics.
- Experience with a range of heavy equipment and automotive vehicles.
- Knowledge of safety practices and environmental directives.
- Ability to use various tools and interpret technical manuals.
- Valid UK driver’s license (Category B).
Experience:
Demonstrated experience with heavy mobile equipment and automotive repairs.
Skills:
– Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
– Ability to interpret technical specifications and manuals.
– Effective communication and record-keeping abilities.
