Job Description/Overview:
The Sheet Metal Worker will measure, cut, and install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes. Responsibilities include operating metalworking machines and ensuring product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
– Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates
– Prepare tenders and quotations
– Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal
– Utilize computerized quantity take-off
– Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specifications
– Develop computerized patterns and layouts
– Cut materials using power tools or by hand
– Assemble, erect, and install hoisting and rigging equipment
– Estimate costs and materials
– Fit and join sheet metal parts
– Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
– Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
Qualifications Needed:
– Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience:
– 7 months to less than 1 year
Additional Information:
