Customer Support Technician

Axiam Plastics is seeking a Customer Support Technician. The role will be responsible for developing customer-driven documentation and coordinating required functions for the in-spec delivery of components. This role involves liaising with technical, engineering, and operational teams, requiring a good understanding of technical terminology and operational concepts. 

Job Details:

The Customer Support Technician will report to the Business Development Manager and work closely with in-house technical and quality teams to provide customers with relevant reporting and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

– Creating and updating process control documents (OPWI, Control Plan, FMEA, Process Flow, Drawing Register)

– Processing Engineering Change Notifications

– Conducting Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility studies (Gauge R&R)

– Managing Part Production Approval Protocols (PPAP)

– Overseeing Supplier Part Approval Protocols (SPAP) / Validations

– Communicating with customers, including:

  – Reviewing and understanding customer products and product drawings

  – Discussing measuring/monitoring specific to customer products

  – Deciding on production QA requirements and SPAP requirements

  – Discussing jigs and fixtures required for SPAP and ongoing checks

  – Costing SPAP trials and validation in conjunction with the technical team

Qualifications Needed:

– Customer-centric mindset with a focus on quality outputs

– Effective communication skills

– Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

– Knowledge of current manufacturing methods and machinery

– Preferably a tertiary qualification or relevant experience in the designated fields

Experience:

– Previous experience in a similar customer support or technical role is beneficial

Skills:

– Ability to communicate effectively

– Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

– Knowledge of current manufacturing methods and machinery

– Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work unsupervised

– Meticulous attention to detail and quality

Salary/Compensation:

– $32 – $36 per hour
