Task Lighting is a successful New Zealand-owned business currently undergoing growth. We are seeking a full-time Assembly Technician reporting to the Factory Manager. You will be producing products for Task Lighting and our sister company Lumatech. The role involves cutting aluminium extrusions, assembling components, wiring, and wrapping products of varying lengths, shapes, and sizes. As many of our projects involve customization, the role will be varied and includes full training.
Job Details:
The role involves various assembly tasks, ensuring that all products comply with electrical standards and quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
– Assemble standard products using a BOM and a sample to ensure compliance with electrical standards and quality requirements
– Fabricate project design work from approved plans and designs with assistance from the Factory Manager
– Measure and cut extrusion materials for powder coating or anodizing
– Liaise with the Factory Manager on sub-contract supplies, deliveries, and pick-ups as required
– Check for quality assurance of subcontract work and supplies
– Plan and manage the electrical assembly of the project extrusion product to meet delivery date requirements
– Maintain a tidy and clean assembly bench, tools, and work area
– Test and check the electrical and quality of completed products in accordance with electrical standards and company policy
– Deliver completed orders to customers and project sites and pick up component parts or imported items as required
– Assist in general warehouse duties as needed, with a primary focus on the fabrication, cutting, and finishing of metal parts for production
Qualifications Needed:
– Experience with LED products or soldering is an advantage
Experience
– Previous experience in a similar assembly or manufacturing role is beneficial
Skills:
– Ability to work productively and organized
– Competence in reading and interpreting BOM and plans
– Attention to detail and quality assurance
– Ability to liaise effectively with the Factory Manager
– General warehouse skills including picking and packing
Salary/Compensation:
– $27 – $30 per hour
– Competitive remuneration with an hourly wage plus bonus structure
