Job Description:
NL Health Services is seeking a Registered Midwife for a temporary call-in position at Bell Place Community Health Centre in Gander, part of the Central Health Zone’s newly introduced Midwifery Program. This role involves providing comprehensive primary maternity care and collaborating with various healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide primary maternity care throughout pregnancy, labor, and postpartum periods.
– Conduct births in hospital or community settings.
– Collaborate with obstetricians, nurses, family physicians, pediatricians, and other healthcare providers.
– Promote person- and family-centered care and support safety and improvement in work practices.
Required Qualifications:
– Graduation from a Canadian university midwifery education program or equivalent.
– Current registration or eligibility for registration with the College of Midwives of Newfoundland and Labrador (CMNL) and Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals (NLCHP).
– A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance.
– A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct including a vulnerable sector check.
– A valid Newfoundland & Labrador class IV Driver’s License and a private vehicle.
– Demonstrated commitment to Central Health’s values: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Prior midwifery experience in Canada.
