About Us:
Wanaka’s award-winning Pembroke Patisserie in Albert Town has an opportunity for a qualified Baker or Pastry Chef. Our kitchen team is a diverse international crew dedicated to their roles. Teamwork, meeting deadlines, and enjoying the creative hospitality scene are central to our success and reputation.
Responsibilities:
– Operate the pastry and bread section of the kitchen while working closely with the Head Chef and Kitchen Manager
– Work independently to complete preparation of orders as required
– Carry out food preparation and cleaning tasks
– Use pastry skills to create new and exciting dishes and demonstrate techniques to others
Requirements:
– NZ Certificate in Baking Level 3-4, Le Cordon Bleu Certificate, or industry equivalent from another country
– Ideally 3 years of experience in a commercial bakery and pastry kitchen
– Proficiency in dough lamination, croissant, bread, and sourdough
– Proficiency in icing, decorating, and finishing cakes, tarts, and pastries
– Reliability, punctuality, accuracy, and good time management
Work Hours:
– 7 days per week with rostered hours between 5 am and 4 pm
– Minimum of 30 hours per week
What We Offer:
– Pay rate between $29.99 – $34.99 per hour depending on experience
– Full-time, ongoing role for someone looking to permanently settle in Wanaka
– Sponsorship available for the right candidate
– Candidates are responsible for their own accommodation and transportation
