Position Summary:
The Long Term Substitute: Dual Language (TW) Portuguese Elementary Teacher will provide direct instruction to students, delivering Framingham Public Schools’ high expectations for achievement, equal access to high levels of instruction, the achievement of academic proficiency for all students, and the closing of the opportunity gap among subgroups within the schools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Program Planning: Develop a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Classroom Environment: Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Learning Guidance: Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, communicating these objectives to students.
- Instructional Methods: Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Student Assessment: Regularly assess student accomplishments and provide progress reports as required.
- Counseling: Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basis.
- Policy Implementation: Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintain order in the classroom.
- Supervision: Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aides and/or volunteers.
- Staff Participation: Attend staff meetings and serve on staff and/or school committees.
- Professional Development: Participate in staff development programs.
