Job Description/Overview
With over 25 years of experience, Barchester is one of the UK’s foremost care providers, operating nearly 240 care homes and six independent hospitals. We are seeking a passionate and skilled nurse specializing in dementia care to join our national team as a Dementia Nurse Specialist. This critical role involves supporting our memory lane communities and any home or hospital that requires specialist dementia intervention.
Key Responsibilities
Review clinical performance across homes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards in dementia care.
Conduct quality assurance visits and follow up with actionable plans.
Analyze clinical governance data to inform improvement plans.
Ensure all residents receive dignified care with appropriate psychological support.
Lead dementia care projects within homes, providing staff advice and encouragement.
Work closely with management to identify and address priorities.
Support investigations or complaints related to dementia care.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Registered Nurse (RN) with a current NMC PIN.
Minimum five years of post-registration experience working with individuals with dementia.
Evidence of continuous professional development in dementia care.
Understanding of the regulatory framework and ethical issues surrounding dementia care.
Coaching and mentorship experience.
Experience
Extensive experience in dementia care and a strong understanding of current regulatory frameworks are essential.
Skills
Strong clinical leadership skills with a person-centered approach.
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to implement and manage dementia care projects effectively.
Pay
