Job Description/Overview
A vacancy has arisen within the Integrated Respiratory Team at NELFT (North East London Foundation Trust) in South West Essex. The team includes Nursing staff, Specialist Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners, Senior Physiotherapy Assistants, and Administration staff. The service covers community respiratory care including COPD, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Home Oxygen, Respiratory Virtual Ward, and Breathlessness and Diagnostics services.
As a Band 4 Senior Physio Assistant, you will support the service across these areas, after undergoing training and competency reviews.
Key Responsibilities
– Promote effective self-management of patients following initial assessments
– Contribute to patient education and provide holistic support
– Assist COPD and respiratory patients with assessments and escalate to senior staff when needed
– Manage stable oxygen cases and support with home oxygen safety
– Deliver Pulmonary Rehabilitation following appropriate assessment
– Support the Respiratory Virtual Ward (RVW) by aiding with admission avoidance and early supported discharge
– Perform FeNo and ARTP-accredited Spirometry as part of the Breathlessness and Diagnostics service
– Support ongoing reviews and service transformation based on competency

– AP Qualification
– NVQ Level 2 in numeracy and literacy with evidence of continued learning
