Job Description/Overview:
Gusto, Inc. is seeking a dynamic and strategic Principal Product Manager to lead the Growth team. This role is critical in defining the strategic roadmap, aligning long-term visions with actionable plans, and driving the company’s growth trajectory. The successful candidate will work closely with seasoned Growth leaders across Marketing, Design, and Engineering teams to maximize visitors to Gusto and convert them into sign-ups across multiple acquisition channels.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement a comprehensive acquisition strategy across various channels, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and partnerships.
– Partner with Engineering, Design, Data Science (EPDD), and Marketing to address complex cross-functional opportunities related to product adoption.
– Set goals and strategies, translating them into roadmaps, milestones, and requirements.
– Analyze data and user feedback to identify trends, insights, and growth opportunities.
– Conduct A/B testing and other experiments to continuously improve acquisition efforts.
– Monitor and report on key performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
– Manage Gusto.com and the underlying technology platforms for continuous updates and experimentation.
– Drive the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.
– Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and best practices in acquisition and growth marketing.
Qualifications needed:
– 8+ years of product management experience focused on product adoption and business growth.
– Strong strategic leadership skills, with the ability to define clear roadmaps and align long-term strategies.
– Proficiency in cross-functional collaboration, leading efforts across departments including EPD, Revenue, Marketing, and Sales.
– Data and hypothesis-driven approach, with experience in leveraging qualitative and quantitative data for experiments and A/B tests.
– Ability to think in terms of systems and infrastructure, navigating complex challenges effectively.
– Passion for learning and continuous improvement, with a strong interest in Gusto’s mission to support business owners and their employees.
– Familiarity with demand generation marketing practices; experience in leading demand generation in a marketing role is a plus.
