Job Description/Overview:
The Nurse Practitioner will join the RISE Community Health Centre team to provide full-service family care, excluding obstetrics or hospital work. The role involves working in the clinic, client homes, and outreach settings. The NP will be part of an interdisciplinary team and will report to the RISE CHC manager.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide full-service family care in various settings
– Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Physicians, Nurses, Dietitians, and Social Workers
– Manage and prescribe Opioid Agonist Therapy for clients with addictions
– Offer culturally safe, trauma-informed care to marginalized populations
– Engage in outreach activities in community settings and client homes
– Maintain professional registration and participate in ongoing training and development
Qualifications needed:
– Registered and in good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
– Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
– Professional Liability Protection with Canadian Nurses Protective Society (CNPS)
– 2+ years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a community-based primary health care setting
– Experience in providing care for clients with addictions and marginalized populations
– Ability to manage complex social and health situations effectively
– Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Assets Include:
– Fluency in non-official languages relevant to neighborhood demographics
– Experience working with medical interpreters
