Job Description/Overview:
The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive, community-based primary care as part of an interdisciplinary team at RISE Community Health Centre. This role includes working in clinics, client homes, and outreach settings to serve diverse populations including Newcomers, LGBTQ2S+, Indigenous people, isolated seniors, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide full-service family care, excluding obstetrics or hospital work
– Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including Physicians, Registered Nurses, Dietitians, and more
– Deliver care in clinic settings, outreach locations, and client homes
– Participate in health promotion and the management of Opioid Agonist Therapy
– Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed care to marginalized populations
– Contribute to quality improvement and the mission of the Community Health Centre
Qualifications needed:
– Registered and in good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
– Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
– Professional Liability Protection with the Canadian Nurses Protective Society (CNPS)
– 2 or more years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a community-based primary health care setting
– Experience in managing Opioid Agonist Therapy and working with socially complex clients
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience with culturally diverse teams and providing outreach in community settings
– Fluency in non-official languages based on neighborhood demographics
– Previous experience in conflict resolution
