New Zealand has published a Green List of high-demand occupations that are either:

Alternative PR Pathways for Skilled Workers
1. Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) to Residence
Start on a work visa and become eligible for PR after 2 years (if your role is on the Green List or pays above the median wage).
2. Residence for Highly Paid Workers
If you earn at least 2x the median wage (currently around NZD $59/hour), you may qualify for residence under the Highly Paid Pathway.
3. Care Workforce and Transport Sector Work to Residence
Special residence pathways were introduced for selected sectors in 2024 and extended into 2025 due to labour shortages.
