 How RCIP Works: Step-by-Step

• Find a job with a designated employer in one of the RCIP communities

• The job must be:

  • Full-time

  • Non-seasonal

  • Meet local wage and skill requirements

Each community has a list of designated employers—usually published on their official website.

Step 2: Meet Basic Requirements

To apply for RCIP, you must:

1. Have at least 1 year (1,560 hours) of work experience in the last 3 years (or be a recent graduate from a local institution)

2. Language Proficiency: Minimum CLB 4–6, depending on the job level

3. Education: At least a high school diploma (with ECA if done outside Canada)

4. Settlement Funds: Show proof of enough money to support you and your family

5. Genuine Intent to Live in the Community: You must plan to live in the rural city permanently
