About the Role
We are looking for a Customer Service Representative II to join our Unified Service Center team. This remote role is open to candidates located in Illinois, Indiana, or Wisconsin.
As a Customer Service Rep II, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service, supporting AMA members, and ensuring all inquiries are handled efficiently and professionally. You will also engage in sales and up-service programs, assisting members with AMA products, journals, membership services, and digital support.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Membership Support
- Handle inbound and outbound customer service inquiries regarding membership benefits, pricing, and processing.
- Assist with policy information, invoices, conference registration, and written communication.
- Address AMA policy and membership inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Forward complex inquiries to AMA subject matter experts when needed.
Sales & Up-Service Programs
- Actively participate in membership sales and service programs, ensuring goal achievement.
- Conduct 60%-70% outbound calls each week to engage and assist AMA members.
Digital Support & Website Assistance
- Assist customers with single sign-on registration, password resets, and website navigation.
- Provide guidance on accessing AMA online resources.
Health Solutions & Journal Support
- Respond to inquiries about AMA books, journals, subscriptions, and product pricing.
- Support online catalog users with registration and troubleshooting.
- Process book orders, journal subscriptions, billing inquiries, and service adjustments.
Physician Credentialing & Data Management
- Validate physician identities and update demographic data.
- Support AMA credentialing products by assisting with registration, orders, and navigation.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in training, performance management, and service improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate and organized customer records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree OR 4+ years of customer service and/or telemarketing experience preferred.
- Strong experience with service center tools (telephony, CRM, data applications).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage professionally with physicians.
- Advanced knowledge of AMA structure, membership benefits, and advocacy issues is a plus.
- Ability to multi-task in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other customer service software.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $21.45 – $25.46 per hour
