Position Overview
More Perfect Union is seeking a Social Media Fellow to join our dynamic team and help grow and engage our online audience. This fellowship focuses on Facebook and Instagram, creating and managing content that resonates with our followers. As part of the social media team, you’ll develop creative content, assist with graphic design, and contribute to the overall strategy for our platforms.
This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and detail-oriented individual passionate about politics, economic justice, and digital media.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation:
- Develop engaging posts, stories, memes, and reels for Facebook to boost reach and engagement.
- Collaborate with the Instagram team to create tailored content for Instagram.
- Graphic Design:
- Design eye-catching visuals, including static images, memes, and reels, using tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
- Community Engagement:
- Monitor and respond to Facebook Messenger messages promptly and professionally to foster audience interaction.
- Strategic Planning:
- Assist in crafting and executing short- and long-term social media strategies for Facebook.
- Trend Research:
- Stay informed about current news, trends, and social media best practices to ensure fresh and relevant content.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of national politics and economic justice issues.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite) and experience creating social media graphics.
- Expertise in Facebook and Instagram, including an understanding of platform trends and audience engagement strategies.
- Exceptional writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Creativity, adaptability, and eagerness to stay ahead of social media trends.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting tight deadlines.
- Full-time availability and ability to work in a remote environment.
Compensation and Benefits
- $20/hour, increasing to $25/hour on January 1, 2025.
