Job Description
J10 Consulting is seeking a Mechanical Inspector for a prestigious Multi-National Project Management Consultancy in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a Mechanical Inspector on new-build retail, commercial, and mixed-use projects in the UAE. Prior experience working for a recognized design or engineering consultancy is preferred.
This is an immediate start, fixed-term contract position, and the successful candidate will be outsourced through J10 Consulting for an initial period of 6-8 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection & Compliance:
- Attend to Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by contractors and ensure timely actions are taken.
- Review shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, and international best practices.
- Report any discrepancies in work and non-compliance with approved drawings and specifications to stakeholders.
- Quality & Safety Monitoring:
- Monitor the quality of work and ensure safety standards are adhered to on-site, including health and environmental concerns.
- Ensure compliance with contractual specifications, QCS specifications, and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, including progress photos, and make them readily available for inspection.
- Reporting & Coordination:
- Prepare surveillance reports for deficiencies and non-conformance reports (NCR) when necessary.
- Check and ensure effective coordination between different disciplines on-site.
- Provide technical support and solutions for any discipline-related issues on-site.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Engineering degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-5+ years of experience in construction supervision for retail, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
- Previous experience with a recognized design consultant or PMC company.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications.
- Thorough understanding of construction-related processes for mechanical work.
Salary
- AED 6,000 to 8,000 per month (inclusive of fixed allowances).
