Job Description
Ladwig Consulting, representing Oil & Gas Measurement Limited (OGM), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Design Engineer to join their team in Dubai. OGM specializes in providing world-class products and process solutions within the oil, gas, and chemical industries. We are looking for a Design Engineer with experience in creating and developing drawings, with a passion for innovation and a willingness to learn.
As part of our team, you will play an integral role in producing high-quality proprietary components, conducting scientific R&D, and overseeing in-house design, prototyping, and testing. You will be responsible for the Product Creation Process (PCP) and use CAD software to develop technical drawings that meet project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Drawing Creation:
- Create, modify, and review detailed technical drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.) based on project specifications and design concepts.
- Develop drawings from sketches, specifications, and verbal instructions.
- Maintain organized records of all drawings and related documentation.
- Project Support & Coordination:
- Enter data into the ERP system and ensure timely completion of tasks according to project deadlines and priorities.
- Follow the Product Creation Process (PCP) and adhere to internal procedures.
- Ensure designs meet project specifications and comply with OGSI’s internal quality procedures.
- Collaboration & Quality Assurance:
- Work closely with the Production/Assembly Team to review and approve drawings for production.
- Take ownership of design approval processes and support production engineers by answering technical queries.
- Ensure the design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing processes are compliant with engineering specifications.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Finalize technical documentation, including operator guides, maintenance manuals, and installation instructions.
- Act as the Design Authority (DA) for approving and releasing 3D models and other drawings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (API/IP/EI/ISO) for design and manufacturing.
Requirements
- Experience & Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in design engineering, particularly within the oil and gas industry.
- Experience with welding processes, procedures, and non-destructive testing (NDT) methods is required.
- Engineering or Instrumentation qualification.
- Skills & Attributes:
- Hands-on attitude and ability to solve complex engineering problems.
- Strong technical communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
- Confidence in decision-making and design authority responsibilities.
- Proficiency in using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
