Job Description/Overview
Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Senior Care Support Worker to join its Paediatric Outpatient Team. This role involves delivering exceptional direct patient care within the Paediatric Outpatients Department both onsite and offsite.
The position starts at Band 2 and offers the opportunity to progress to Band 3 upon successful completion of training and competencies. You will work under the direction of Paediatric Nurse Specialists and the Paediatric Service Manager, performing varied duties based on service needs. Flexible working patterns may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome children, young people, and carers, performing diagnostic tests such as urine tests, blood pressure monitoring, and height/weight measurements.
Ensure patient notes are prepared before clinics, pre-clinic tests are completed, and results are available in records.
Maintain clean, functional equipment and adhere to patient safety protocols.
Chaperone patients during examinations and assist the medical and nursing team as needed.
Prepare consulting rooms by stocking equipment and documentation.
Perform area-specific duties under the instruction of a Registered Nurse or clinician once assessed competent.

Qualifications
Essential
5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including Maths and English.
NVQ Level 3 or relevant experience.
Calm and confident under pressure, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Evidence of paediatric knowledge.
Desirable
Experience working in a paediatric setting.
Awareness of current NHS issues.
Experience
Experience in healthcare, particularly paediatrics, is advantageous.
Skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
Basic IT proficiency for managing patient records.

Additional Information
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) or part-time options available.
Salary: £23,615 – £25,674 per annum (pro-rata).
