Position Overview:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented IT Support Specialist to join our team. This role is essential to maintaining the smooth operation of our IT systems, providing technical support, and ensuring systems are configured and running efficiently. You will be the primary point of contact for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing IT inventory, and assisting staff with technical queries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and system performance issues.
- System Setup: Configure and deploy laptops, ensuring compatibility with company programs and security protocols.
- Performance Monitoring: Regularly monitor and maintain system performance, applying updates, patches, and resolving inefficiencies.
- User Assistance: Provide support for software installations, updates, and general functionality for staff.
- Confidentiality Management: Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IT requests, resolutions, and system configurations.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage IT inventory to ensure resources meet the organization’s needs.
- Communication: Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and system performance issues.
- Proficiency with operating systems (Windows, macOS) and business software.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly to staff.
- Knowledge of IT security practices and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and content management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED (Required).
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation are a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an IT support or related role.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to clear a criminal background check.
- Driver’s License (Required).
- This role does not involve programming and is entirely cloud-based.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time, Day Shift (Monday to Friday).
- Hybrid work model: 3 days remote, 2 days on-site in Dickson, TN.
