About the Role

The Isaac Newton Institute (INI) is seeking an Events Assistant to join the Programmes and Visitor Support Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the success of INI’s world-class events, which host approximately 3,000 visitors annually. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring every delegate has an exceptional experience from registration to post-event follow-up.

Working closely with Programmes and Visitor Coordinators, you will:

  • Use electronic event management systems to coordinate events.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for enquiries, offering friendly, professional support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Planning: Create agendas, manage accommodation, book lecture rooms, and prepare materials.
  • Technical Support: Arrange AV and IT services for events.
  • Catering & Logistics: Order refreshments and organize conference dinners.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Coordinate with event organizers and delegates to ensure smooth operations.

Your meticulous attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills will be essential in maintaining INI’s reputation for excellence.

The Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences is a globally recognized research center that runs programs on mathematical themes with broad applications in science, technology, and society.
The Newton Gateway to Mathematics, supported by INI, bridges the gap between mathematical research and its applications in industry, business, and the public sector. The Gateway organizes 20-25 knowledge exchange activities annually.
