Job Description/Overview

The Clinical Support Worker will assist registered staff in delivering high-quality care to patients in the outpatient department. This role involves providing compassionate, safe care while maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality. The successful candidate will work closely with the nursing team and be responsible for supporting outpatient clinic operations, ensuring a welcoming environment, and assisting patients with their needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Assist registered practitioners in delivering patient care.

 

Manage and maintain the online booking system for clinic rooms.

 

Provide refreshments, pressure-relieving aids, and assistance to frail patients.

 

Support patients with mobility, including chaperoning and transfer assistance.

 

Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and safe environment.

 

Ensure all equipment is operational and cleaned per Trust policies.

 

Respond appropriately to emergencies as directed by trained nurses.

 

Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and colleagues.

 

Handle clerical tasks, including managing patient records and filing notes.

 

Qualifications

 

Numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to Level 2 or GCSE Grade C.

 

Experience

 

Experience working in a healthcare setting.

 

Skills

 

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Ability to handle IT systems and manage clerical tasks.

 

Knowledge of infection control and health and safety standards.

Additional Information

 

Part-time: 20 hours per week (flexible working available).

 

Salary: £24,071 – £25,674 per annum (pro rata).

 

Contract: Permanent.
