Job Overview
Barchester Healthcare is looking for a passionate and skilled Bank Chef to join the team at Mount Tryon Care Home. As a Bank Chef, you’ll support the Head Chef in creating nutritious and flavorful meals that meet the residents’ needs and preferences. This position allows you to deliver high-quality, fresh, and seasonal dishes without the pressure of split shifts. Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing the kitchen during the Head Chef’s absence.
Prepare wholesome, high-quality meals with fresh seasonal ingredients.
Ensure a welcoming dining atmosphere for residents.
Conduct regular audits and maintain stock control.
Work within budgetary guidelines and support kitchen efficiency.
Lead and motivate the kitchen team.
Qualifications
Holds a City & Guilds, NVQ, SVQ, or equivalent culinary qualification.
Experience in a team leadership role within a kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of nutrition and working with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Personable with a commitment to resident well-being.
Good understanding of HACCP standards.
