Position: Clinical Support Worker

Job Description/Overview:
East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Clinical Support Worker to join the Radiotherapy Outpatients team at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. The role focuses on supporting patients through their cancer treatment journey, including systemic anti-cancer treatments and radiotherapy. You will work closely with the team to run clinics, perform phlebotomy, manage CVADs, and undertake ECGs. Training will be provided as needed. The role involves a commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist registered nurses in planning and delivering nursing care for chemotherapy and supportive treatments.
Collaborate with team members to meet patient and family needs.
Support the unit’s efficiency by proactively undertaking tasks within scope.
Perform physiological observations, ECGs, and personal care.
Contribute to the development of self and others within the department.
Qualifications:
Apprenticeship Level 3 in Health or NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
GCSE Grades A-C (or equivalent) in English and Math.
Care Certificate and Level 2 in Health & Social Care.
Experience:
Previous healthcare experience in a Band 2 role is essential.
Experience in cancer care is desirable.
Skills:
Effective communication skills across varied patient settings.
Self-motivated, flexible, and a team player.
Basic IT skills, with willingness to develop as needed.
Knowledge:
Understanding of NHS requirements and basic healthcare concepts.
