Role Overview
Loblaw is seeking a talented Social Media Manager to join our Social Media Centre of Excellence. In this role, you will oversee and execute social media strategies for control brands and retail banners, enhancing brand awareness and driving audience engagement. Reporting to the Senior Social Media Manager, you’ll work closely with brand marketing and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media platform strategies for assigned brand or banner portfolios, aligned with marketing objectives.
- Optimize and maintain company social pages, ensuring consistency and up-to-date information.
- Implement SEO best practices for video titles, descriptions, and tags to boost discoverability.
- Manage day-to-day social media activities, including scheduling, posting, copywriting, monitoring, and reporting using Sprout Social.
- Oversee local social media toolkits and support ad-hoc campaigns for retail store teams nationally.
- Conduct social media listening and monitoring to gather insights, track performance metrics, and recommend optimizations.
- Stay current with emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices, identifying opportunities for innovation.
- Maintain the social media playbook to ensure brand voice, messaging, and content consistency.
- Monitor social media feeds, addressing customer inquiries and feedback promptly.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Marketing, Media, or a related field.
- 5+ years of proven social media management experience.
- Strong leadership skills to inspire and motivate a team in a collaborative work environment.
- Proficiency with social media tools and listening platforms, such as Sprout Social.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with impeccable proofreading and grammar.
- Strong interpersonal skills for sourcing information, pitching ideas, and building relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail, project management, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities.
