Job Description/Overview:
The Receiving Clerk/Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, unloading, and processing deliveries, ensuring accurate account of incoming freight based on invoices and reports. Key responsibilities include staging merchandise, verifying received inventory, reconciling shipping invoices, and ensuring proper handling of outgoing mail and packages. The role also requires securing the receiving room, following hazardous material shipping guidelines, and maintaining an accurate tracking system for all transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and process deliveries, accounting for incoming freight
Stage and mark merchandise for placement in the facility
Verify and track received inventory; complete inventory reports
Communicate with guests regarding received packages
Maintain accurate tracking of shipping and receiving transactions
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions
Address guest service needs professionally and timely
Move and handle packages weighing up to 50 pounds
Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Experience:
No related work experience required
Skills:
Ability to lift and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights
Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
Professional communication and teamwork skills
Ability to navigate narrow, confined, or elevated spaces
