Job Description/Overview
The Housekeeper will support the Critical Care Unit by providing a clean and well-maintained environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include preparing patient environments, ensuring cleanliness of medical equipment, maintaining high standards in patient and visitor areas, and assisting in meal processes. This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and empathy toward patients.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a clean environment for the Critical Care Unit, following strict health and hygiene standards.
Prepare patient areas to ensure a comfortable and safe environment.
Clean and maintain medical equipment and report necessary maintenance.
Coordinate with domestic supervisors to ensure high-quality cleaning.
Manage stock and equipment within the unit.
Conduct quality improvement tasks, including audits and updating ward information boards.
Support meal service, including hot drinks rounds for patients.
Qualifications
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualifications
Willingness to undertake professional development
Experience
Previous experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting (desirable)
Basic computer skills
Experience with stock control and ordering
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-centered approach
Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
