Job Description/Overview:
KBR is seeking a Software Engineer to support the NASA Aeronautics Research Technology and Simulation (ARTS) Program. This role involves developing and maintaining high-fidelity simulation systems for aircraft and spacecraft research, utilizing Object Oriented Design (OOD) in C++ under Linux. The engineer will work at the NASA Langley Research Center and support various NASA programs and government organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain customized software systems for data collection and processing.
Document design decisions and maintain code quality.
Conduct software testing and document results.
Collaborate with teams to ensure software meets technical requirements.
Solve problems and adapt solutions as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
6 years of experience in OOD and real-time synchronous aircraft and spacecraft simulations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Familiarity with software development workflows (git, jira).
Preferred:
Experience supporting NASA contracts.
Knowledge of NASA IT security requirements.
Background in math or physics; experience with cloud computing, big data, and various programming languages (C++, Java, Python, etc.).
Experience:
Significant experience in high-fidelity simulation development, particularly in aerospace.
Skills:
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Interest in enhancing knowledge of AI and cloud technologies.
