Job Overview:
We are seeking a creative and experienced Content Writer to join GitHub’s Brand and Content Marketing team. The role involves creating engaging content for enterprise B2B marketing, telling stories that resonate with both developers and IT decision-makers, and ensuring all content aligns with GitHub’s voice. As part of a collaborative team, you will partner with various stakeholders to bring products and solutions to life, using both short- and long-form content to drive results.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with campaign managers and subject matter experts to create engaging product content and explore new creative approaches.
  • Write and edit content for GitHub’s web properties, including headlines, body copy, and long-form content.
  • Implement SEO strategies to optimize site content.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., product marketing, developer relations) to meet deadlines and deliver impactful content.
  • Apply data-driven insights to refine and improve content strategies.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and high-quality content delivery.
  • Explain complex technical concepts in a way that resonates with GitHub’s diverse audiences.
  • Ghostwrite for executives and internal influencers.
  • Conduct interviews and collaborate with subject matter experts to craft compelling stories.
  • Integrate research and data into articles and other content formats.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in editorial, journalism, content strategy, or writing roles for technical audiences.
  • 3+ years of experience in B2B content development, with a focus on technical audiences.
  • 2+ years of experience working at a technology company or in a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience with marketing and campaign execution.

Preferred:

  • Experience in the software development industry, with a portfolio demonstrating versatility and creativity.
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and processes.
  • Knowledge of content creation for social media, video scripting, and campaign development.
  • Familiarity with the developer community and experience writing for IT decision-makers.

Compensation and Benefits:
GitHub offers competitive compensation, with the salary range for this role set between $63,600 – $168,600 per year, depending on location, experience, and skills. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for an annual bonus, stock options, and other rewards based on individual and company performance.
