Job Description/Overview:

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will support the kitchen team by preparing and serving nutritious, healt hy meals for our residents. Your role will involve maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in the kitchen, ensuring our residents’ well-being is always a top priority.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and serving meals to residents.
Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen areas and equipment.
Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.
Record fridge and freezer temperatures.
Support new starters in the use of kitchen equipment.
Handle food supplies and monitor stock levels.
Keep accurate records and follow recipes as needed.
About You:
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant with a passion for food and care. You should have some kitchen experience, but more importantly, you should either have an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or be willing to work towards it. Good organizational skills and attention to detail are key, as well as the ability to communicate kindly and considerately with both residents and team members.
Qualifications:
NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation (or willingness to study for one).
Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
Ability to follow recipes and maintain accurate records.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Experience:
Previous kitchen experience is desirable but not essential. Full training will be provided.
Safeguarding:
You should be able to recognize signs of possible abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate steps to take if you have any concerns. Training in safeguarding is mandatory for this role.
