About the Role:
As a Finance Manager at Skuad, you will play a crucial role in achieving our mission to enable remote employment globally. You will be responsible for accurately recording and managing financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger, ensuring reconciliation of financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, generating essential financial reports, and supporting tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions, including income, expenses, and other financial activities.
- General Ledger Management: Manage and organize the general ledger, serving as a central repository for all financial transactions.
- Financial Reconciliation: Conduct reconciliation of financial records with bank statements to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare comprehensive financial reports, interpret financial information for managerial staff, and recommend actions to optimize financial performance.
- Investment Strategy and Management: Advise on investment activities and provide strategies for sustainable growth and profitability.
- Cost and Performance Analysis: Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, and sales results, identifying areas for improvement and cost-reduction opportunities.
- Trends and Projections Development: Develop financial trends and projections to guide strategic planning and decision-making.
- Budgeting and Departmental Coordination: Oversee budget preparation, liaise with auditors, and ensure alignment with company plans across departments.
- Finance Department Management: Oversee finance department operations, set goals, and design frameworks for effective financial management.
- Tax Compliance Support and Proficiency in Accounting Software: Collaborate with accountants to ensure compliance with tax regulations and utilize accounting software for efficient data management.
Note: This is not a remote role; candidates must be available in the office.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce/Finance.
- 6-8 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a fintech organization.
- Expertise in handling Xero would be an advantage.
- Ability to break down complex problems and identify solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of data, software engineering, and business processes.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
