Job Description/Overview:
PCCW Global, an international telecommunications company, is seeking a System Architect to join their team. This role involves designing enterprise-grade business solutions and integrating them with critical systems while collaborating with global teams. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to use the latest cloud technologies and participate in a variety of projects to support business transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with business leaders, product managers, and software engineers to translate business requirements into architectural designs.
Technology Architecture Design:
Develop end-to-end technology architectures that align with business objectives, ensuring scalability and performance.
Framework Development:
Create and maintain patterns, frameworks, and best practices for application and system integration.
Technology Selection:
Evaluate and select technologies, tools, and frameworks that meet business and technical requirements.
Technical Leadership:
Collaborate with various teams and external vendors to design, deploy, and evaluate cloud solutions.
Problem Solving & Support:
Provide direction and solve challenges faced by development teams, offering guidance and architectural solutions.
Security & Compliance:
Participate in ISO 27001 activities and ensure architecture aligns with security policies. Collaborate with the information security team for compliance.
Documentation & Communication:
Maintain network/architecture diagrams and effectively communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs to stakeholders.
Requirements:
Education:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related IT disciplines.
Experience:
At least 10 years of experience in IT development, with 5+ years in architectural roles.
Strong background in designing application infrastructure and data architectures for both on-premise and cloud solutions.
Experience in cloud and hybrid environments (e.g., GCP, AWS) with provisioning, automation, monitoring, security, and backup solutions.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in designing API architectures, cloud infrastructure, security, event-driven architecture, and container-based systems.
Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, PHP, Docker, Kubernetes, RESTful API, MQ, PubSub, relational databases (e.g., MySQL), Git, CI/CD pipeline, and Linux.
Familiarity with OAuth2, SAML2, JWT, and OpenID Connect.
Certified Architect in a Cloud Platform (e.g., AWS, GCP) is an advantage.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
